Hello everyone, I’m Mathieu, also known as Youbarbapapa on Twitch. I’m a music streamer, playing saxophone, guitar and keyboard and sometimes playing video games. Today, I want to talk about my journey as a Twitch streamer and the AI-powered tool I created to solve some of my issues.
Twitch is a platform where people can watch and interact with their favourite streamers in real-time. Streamers can share their passions, skills and connect with their audience. But starting as a streamer is not easy, it’s not just about playing your favorite game or showing off your music skills, it’s a long and challenging journey.
When I started streaming, I was bit overwhelmed by the amount of work that needed to be done. From finding the right equipment, setting up your channel, creating a schedule and promoting my stream. But the biggest challenge was the mental and emotional aspect of streaming. Ups and Downs, getting from excitment and joy to a lengthy loneliness, spending hours alone in front of your screen, trying to entertain and engage with your audience. It can be draining.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the constant battle with my own self-doubt. Every time I looked at the viewer count, I questioned myself and wondered why I wasn’t performing as well as I thought I should be. I would constantly question what I was saying, what I was doing, and whether or not I was doing it right.
With experience came wisdom… of a sort. I learned from my own struggles and found a way to handle the ups and downs of streaming. The journey wasn’t always easy, and there are still tough moments, but overall I’ve been able to find a sense of comfort and now most of it is enjoyment. And from this experience, I was inspired to tackle a problem I faced — how to increase engagement and smooth out the rough patches during streams.
That’s why I created Ailicia, an AI-powered assistant that helps me generate engagement and moderate my Twitch channel. Ailicia interacts with both the streamer and the viewers through the chat, helping keep up the good energy and supporting me during those challenging moments. I quickly realized that Ailicia could help not just me but other streamers in my community too. That’s when I decided to create NovaSquare, a company founded by creators for creators, to empower all types of creators to thrive through their growth journey using AI-powered tools.
NovaSquare’s mission is to take away the hassle and support creators through their journey. Our goal is to help creators focus on what they love to do and provide them with tools to make their lives easier. For example, managing social media is a task that many creators struggle with, including myself. We are working on an AI-powered assistant that will check on the creator, gather information, and post content, including media to different platforms, freeing up the creator’s time to focus on what they love to do.
Over the first few weeks of using Ailicia, some streamers saw an increase of 50% in messages exchanged on their channel while streaming. The initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are looking for more alpha testers to join and give us their feedback.
This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
In conclusion, my journey as a Twitch streamer has been a roller coaster of emotions and challenges, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
